My experience in the program was meaningful, and I truly appreciated what it represents. The topics discussed helped me begin a journey of inner work and personal growth. The FACT staff, especially those with lived experience, were all welcoming, supportive, and encouraging.

However, I do feel it’s important to share the other side of my experience as well. While the program staff were wonderful, some of the prison staff did not display the same energy. In particular, a Ms. Haze often came across with a nasty demeanor toward both the children and the parents. This behavior was discouraging and felt discriminatory, almost as if it were directed toward the program itself. This reflects poorly on the staff at SCI Phoenix, not on FACT.

Overall, the program itself was powerful and positive — the issues came from certain prison staff, not the program.

This experience has helped a lot with the bonding of my son and his father. It has helped with communication and expectations with in relationships. I has helped my son express his feeling towards his parents. So thank you for our family!!!!

I have been through the program twice with my girls. It’s an amazing program and also the only reason my girls have been able to see the father. The fact the kids get that one on one time is a blessing. They can say everything they need to without fear and really express how their father being there makes them feel. They can start to build a more positive relationship with their fathers. Me and my kids dad are not on good terms so to have that break for those hours and not have to sit face to face with him has been a blessing to me as well. I would like to think a formed a friendship with some of the other moms. it feels great to know people who understand how it feels. To me it’s a win win for both mom and child. If we do it for anyone we do it for the kids. To get through the 6 weeks you have the mindset that it’s for your child. If you have the mindset that you doing it for anyone but your baby you will walk away. I myself almost quit but I kept reminding myself it’s not about how I feel it’s about my daughter. I 100% would recommend.

I’ve had the opportunity to experience the FACT program at SCI-Phoenix. I immediately felt comfortable because of Ms K and the other ladies lead. The experience took into account the feelings of the men inside, the children as well as the parents or guardians. My granddaughter was very excited to spend time with her dad. Well done and thank you.

I'm very impressed with this program. I was very doubtful at first. This was very helpful for me as the mother out here raising my boys while there father is in prison. My 13 yr old has a better relationship with his Abu. He told me he has a better understanding also. I just wanta thank F A.C.T program. I got to see I'm not the only mother going through this rough time in my life. I'm not alone as long as I'm a part of F.A.C.T. thank you

Wonderful program for the moms and children , the children get to build a connection with their dads and the moms gets to meet other women that’s dealing with incarcerated love ones . They provide therapy and fun activities

I think the program is wonderful. Wish I knew about it years ago. Ms Kay, Ms Lorri, Ms, Darlene were great. It’s like you gain an extra family meeting with this group week after week. You have people that can relate to you ,and your child has a chance to have a bond or continue there bond with there Incarcerated love ones.

I loved how much this program has made my husband grow. He shares with me his lessons on co-parenting, and how much he’s learned. My son looks forward to coming every week and spending time with his dad. I’ve enjoyed getting to know all the other caregivers/moms/grand-moms, and all their stories. I would recommend this program to others, so it can help them as much as it’s helped my family. Thank you for everything, Fact Experience and I look forward in being apart of your program’s future endeavors♥️

The FACT program is an incredible initiative that helps strengthen the bond between fathers and their children. It provides a unique opportunity for children who have never visited their fathers before, and for some fathers, it marks the first time they are meeting their children.
The FACT program has been instrumental in strengthening the bond between my son and his father while also boosting my son’s confidence.
