I have been through the program twice with my girls. It’s an amazing program and also the only reason my girls have been able to see the father. The fact the kids get that one on one time is a blessing. They can say everything they need to without fear and really express how their father being there makes them feel. They can start to build a more positive relationship with their fathers. Me and my kids dad are not on good terms so to have that break for those hours and not have to sit face to face with him has been a blessing to me as well. I would like to think a formed a friendship with some of the other moms. it feels great to know people who understand how it feels. To me it’s a win win for both mom and child. If we do it for anyone we do it for the kids. To get through the 6 weeks you have the mindset that it’s for your child. If you have the mindset that you doing it for anyone but your baby you will walk away. I myself almost quit but I kept reminding myself it’s not about how I feel it’s about my daughter. I 100% would recommend.

The Fact Experience Program is one of the most humbling experiences I have had to date.. I got to meet some amazing humans who made mistakes but were still able to be seen as fathers around their children. The air it out sessions are something that is much needed and a great way to safely allow the children to let their fathers know the impact them being in prison has on them

When a parent becomes incarcerated not only their world is affected, the effects of their incarceration trickle down throughout their children, their community, their co-parents and others. F.A.C.T. is dedicated to incorporating mental health programming in the curriculum and utilizes the support of mental health professionals in a variety of ways. Throughout the program fathers participate in facilitator led parenting sessions, mothers/caregivers also receive this intervention outside of the correctional facility. It is both my personal and professional opinion that the F.A.C.T. Experience is changing the way incarcerated parents connect with their children and I’m honored to be a part of this effort.

The visit to SCI and learning about the F.A.C.T program was truly eye opening and inspiring. I was truly moved by the work, dedication, passion and resilience of the men to ensure they are involved in their children's lives despite the circumstances. It warms my heart thinking of the impact this program makes and what the future holds as we collaborate, connect, and strive to bring this program to Baltimore.

The FACT is an awesome program. We have brought our grandson to visit his father on the weekend to build their relationship. We have noticed that our grandson has more confidence and is very happy to visit with his father. He has improved in school, and is more open to making friends. We love this program and would recommend this program to others who have incarcerated love ones.

This was such a great experience and very inspirational to see men showing their willingness and eagerness to be involved in their children's education despite them being where they are.

The visit was awesome, thanks for the opportunity to learn and engage the brothers who recognized the need for fathers to be a part of the development of their children regardless of their situation. I pray that the support needed will increase and that your efforts are felt by the children your connected too. To my brothers stay strong and be encouraged, all will be well.

The FACT program is an incredible initiative that helps strengthen the bond between fathers and their children. It provides a unique opportunity for children who have never visited their fathers before, and for some fathers, it marks the first time they are meeting their children.
The FACT program has been instrumental in strengthening the bond between my son and his father while also boosting my son’s confidence.
I could say so much, but I’ll leave you with this—if you’re thinking about joining the program, don’t hesitate—just do it!

My daughter, Khloe-Bryn is a graduate of cohort 12! The first cohort, post covid, and she loved the time spent with her father throughout the 6 weeks. We enjoyed every moment of the graduation, as well as the post-graduation dinner. I believe the relationship and bond that Khloe-Bryn was able to build from the FACT Experience program has played an intricate roll in her self-esteem, education, as well as her overall growth into a teenager. I see her confidence has grown over the past year, and she is much more outspoken. It seems as if she feels a sense of purpose now that she knows her father cares and loves her unconditionally. Having that time spent over those 6 weeks has allowed her to release something inside that may have been eating at her over the 8 years that her father's been incarcerated.

Khloe-Bryn's father has since been released and I feel grateful that she had the chance to get to know him before. FACT Experience has checked in on them both and made sure that we know they will always be a great resource for her father and always there if ever we need them.

Thank you all SO MUCH for hosting Child First Authority, Inc. on September 22nd, 2023. We had such a wonderful time learning about the FACT program and talking about potential partnership opportunities. Your passion for this program was beyond palpable and certainly ignited a fire in all of us. While I particularly felt immense emotion stepping foot into a prison (I am an advocate for prison abolition and defunding police), I was so overwhelmed by your stories and commitment to leading this work, despite incarceration. Your ability to create, implement, and expand a grassroots organization within the confines of a prison speaks volumes. From our brief interaction, you all have encouraged me to never take "no" as an answer, and to continue fighting for the things I am passionate about.

Truly inspired by the F.A.C.T. Experience and the work you all are doing! This site visit was extra special because we had 1:1 time with the team to discuss how we can adopt this program in Baltimore. I am super excited about our partnership and cannot wait to see what we do together!
